Terry Bird, a proud member of the George Gordon First Nation, holds a Business Administration Diploma from the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Institute. He is also a Certified Buyer recognized by the Saskatchewan Supply Chain Professional Organization (SCMP). Over his 25-year career, Terry has provided valuable support to various corporations in areas such as Human Resources, Procurement, Regulatory Affairs, Corporate Affairs and Indigenous Relations. With extensive experience in leadership positions within Mining, Crown Corporations and the Private sector, Terry takes great pride in his professional achievements. Additionally, he serves as the Vice President of George Gordon Developments Ltd., where he and his team are dedicated to upholding high standards of integrity in the company's Business Developments and Corporate Affairs.
Dawn Pratt

Dawn Pratt, a proud member of the Muscowpetung Anihšināpē Nation has 25 years of experience in Indigenous STEM education. She holds a Master of Science degree in Chemistry, focusing on organic adsorbent materials for arsenic removal from water. Her research led to multiple peer-reviewed publications, including two first-authored papers and her thesis on Chitosan-based biopolymer sorbents.

Dawn is fundamentally driven to reinstate Indigenous Elder and Knowledge Keeper teachings into STEM education for the benefit of Indigenous Peoples’ futures. She seeks to amplify Indigenous STEM role models and Indigenized STEM content by transforming instructional practices and curricula in ways that embrace Indigenous cultural, linguistic, and land-based traditions and resources.

Dawn has extensive experience in public policy and nuclear waste management, focusing on community engagement. She was the Nuclear Fuel Waste Dialogue Coordinator for the Assembly of First Nations, facilitating discussions about nuclear waste challenges with First Nation communities. By visiting these communities, she ensured their voices were heard in national dialogues. As a Senior Engagement Advisor at the Nuclear Waste Management Organization, she collaborated with three Saskatchewan communities exploring deep geological repositories. Her work with the First Nations Power Authority aimed to foster trust and collaboration between First Nation communities and technical experts, enhancing meaningful engagement in nuclear matters.

Dawn is currently the Science Lead at Musqua Environmental Ltd., the environmental arm of George Gordon Development Ltd. A key aspect of Dawn's work involves integrating Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) into Climate Change adaptation strategies and environmental monitoring plans.
Samuel Gebreselassie

Samuel is an Environmental Engineer, Scientist, and Agrologist with a robust academic and professional background in environmental science, engineering, and agriculture. He holds a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Regina and a bachelor’s degree in Soil and Water Conservation. With over a decade of experience, Samuel has worked on pivotal environmental projects both in Canada and internationally, focusing on innovative solutions for water quality management, soil science, and sustainable environmental practices.

His professional journey is marked by extensive expertise in water issues, land management, environmental protection, and water resource management, including adherence to drinking water legislation and principles of water and wastewater treatment. Samuel has led several community-based projects, specializing in land reclamation, water remediation, and the conservation and management of water and land resources.

As a Registered Agrologist with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists, Samuel applies his expertise to promote sustainable environmental practices. His efforts have been recognized through multiple research awards and notable accolades such as the RCE Saskatchewan Education for Sustainable Development Recognition. This award highlights Samuel's significant contributions to sustainable development projects that align with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

At Musqua Environmental Ltd., Samuel continues to utilize his extensive experience and innovative approach to address contemporary environmental challenges, driving sustainable development and ensuring ecological resilience across various projects.
Brad Verot

Brad brings his vast knowledge and experience in the Oil and Gas Industry to WLCS. While working for CGG in Canada and the United States, Brad supervised all front end operations, as well as managing Health, Safety, and Environment for workers. He has dealt with Provincial, State, and Federal Governments regarding permits, laws and regulations. In 2013, he was one of the lead Project Managers on the largest land seismic survey in North America, overlooking all departments and the Health and Safety of the Program. Brad’s oil and gas career has allowed him to work in an array of different countries such as Argentina, Chile, Papua New Guinea, and Oman. Many of these destinations required line clearing, surveying, and permitting. Brad also has his Welding Certificate from Saskatchewan Technical Institute; Seismic Field Operations Supervisor Course (Enform); FSI Driver Training Course; DNV Modern Safety Management Course. Brad joined WLCS in 2019 as Operations Coordinator.
